• Park on the carport slab. The switch for the outside light is against the wall of the house just above the refuse bin. (Double switch). Proceed to the security gate and open the combination lock with the code provided to you. (You may need a flashlight if it is dark). Slide the security gate to the right. Proceed to the back door and make a missed call to the number provided to you. This will release the door lock, turn the door handle to open the door.
• Switch on the fridge at the wall if it is not already on. Switch on the hot water geyser at the distribution board in the passage.
• The Gardener's name is Dumisani. He normally works once a week, most likely on a Tuesday (subject to the weather). Please allow him to do his work - he will not disrupt your stay for long. He has the code for the Monkey-Gate and the storeroom.
• Do not use any maid. Phumi is our regular. Contact us if you would like to have her for any additional days during your stay. She knows the house and what is expected. We will arrange for her to clean up after your departure or on the last day, for which we will pay her from your booking fees. Any additional days you require her will be charged for additionally and must be arranged prior to your arrival.
• Please ensure that there is always a black bag in the refuse bin. Refuse is collected by our cleaners on the day of your departure. If you are staying for an extended period, please place full refuse bags in the black bin near the back door. Do not under any circumstances place it outside.
• Always please secure the refuse bin lid. The baboons and the monkeys in the vicinity often raid the bins and if successful they become a nuisance.
On arrival at Emfuleni please check the following items:
• Is the house clean?
• Is the stove clean?
• Is the fridge turned on and working?
• Is the stove turned on and working?
• Is the TV and Dstv turned on and working?
If any of the above is found not to be in order please advise us immediately.
All the keys are in a Key Box which is at the electricity distribution board.
